A dance master is hired to teach the stepsisters to dance and new clothes are purchased.

Once they are ready, everyone except Cinderella leaves for the ball. Stepmother throws a jar of lentils into the fire and tells Cinderella she has to pick out every single lentil before they return.

The beggar woman returns and magically turns into the Fairy Godmother. She thanks Cinderella for her kindness and tells her that she wishes to return the favour.
She says that she has the power to grant any wish she desires. Cinderella tells her of the ball and says she wishes to go.
The Fairy Godmother tells Cinderella that her wish is granted. She waves her wand, calling forth four fairies to dress Cinderella for the ball.
